Antoine Trommelen (soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone) is a self-taught musician, and is highly regarded in the worlds of Dixieland, Swing and Mainstream-jazz.
He is the leader of several jazz bands, an award-winning soloist, and has played with many international jazz greats including Bob Wilber, Tom Baker, Dan Barrett , Bob Barnard, Leroy Jones, Warren Vaché, Harry Allen, George Probert, Dee Daniels, Bruce Adams, Gene Conners, Catherene Russell, Peanuts Hucko, Satoru Oda, Eiji Hanaoka, Benny Powell, Wendell Brunious, Steve Yocum, Jason Marsalis, John Allred, Randy Sandke, Matthias Seuffert, Enrico Tomasso, Nicki Parrott, Engelbert Wrobel, Duke Heitger and Roy Williams. Also, Dutch jazz artists Pim Jacobs, Thijs van Leer, Bob Kaper, Denise Jannah, Frits Landesbergen, Greetje Kauffeld, Paulus Schäfer and many others.
Antoine has appeared at many festivals in the Netherlands (including the prestigious 'North Sea Jazz Festival'), but also at leading European Jazzfestivals like 'Jazz Ascona' and 'Jazz in Marciac'. Antoine was leader of the international Philips World Stars Jazz Band for five years. He also has been a member of the Euro Top 8. Next to jazz, Antoine was a band member of the Netherlands' number one pop-singer Guus Meeuwis for 13 years.
He has played in concerts on radio and TV in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, Curaçao, Bonaire, Taiwan and Japan.
From 1999 until 2013 Antoine was chairman of the famous Breda Jazz Festival, one of the biggest jazz festivals in the Netherlands, with more than 250,000 visitors annually.
